Blooms and A'TIN, start manifesting.
P-pop's biggest acts are aiming for music's biggest night. BINI and SB19 have both submitted entries for the 69th Grammy Awards, the groups announced on social media on Monday, October 12.
BINI's entries
Best New Artist
Best Asian Pop Music Performance: "Unang Kilig"
Best Song Written for Visual Media: "A Parallel World"
The Nation's Girl Group posted them with a simple caption: "For Your Grammy Consideration."
SB19's entries
Best Asian Pop Music Performance: "Visa"
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance: "Lawless"
The Kings of P-pop wrote: "From the Philippines to the world, thank you for believing in SB19."
Wait, there's an Asian pop category now?
Yes! Best Asian Pop Music Performance is one of five new categories the Recording Academy announced in June. It covers pop recordings from, or widely recognized in, Asian markets, including K-pop, J-pop, C-pop and P-pop, that make meaningful use of one or more Asian languages. That gives Filipino acts a much clearer path to a Grammy.
Quick reality check
Submitting doesn't mean they're nominated yet. Recording Academy voting members will pick the final nominees, and the ceremony is on February 7, 2027.
What a year it's been
April: BINI became the first homegrown Filipino act to perform at Coachella, then wrapped the North American leg of its "Signals World Tour"
July: SB19 became the first homegrown Filipino act to perform at Lollapalooza
A Grammy nod would be the perfect cherry on top. Fingers crossed.
