Our Jasmine. Our Mulan. Now a permanent part of Hollywood Boulevard.

Lea Salonga received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, September 4, in Los Angeles. She's the first Filipina to get one, and hers is the 2,855th star, right outside the Pantages Theatre.

Her reaction? "This is surreal."

Brandy, Darren Criss and Ming-Na Wen were there to cheer her on.

A quick reminder of why she's a legend

  • Started performing professionally at age 7 in the Philippines

  • Original Kim in "Miss Saigon" in London in 1988

  • Won the Olivier Award in 1990 and the Tony in 1991, the first Asian woman to win the Tony for best actress in a musical

  • First Asian actress to play Éponine in "Les Misérables" on Broadway

  • Singing voice of Jasmine in "Aladdin" and of Mulan

  • Named a Disney Legend in 2011

And she's not done

Next up, she voices the Manananggal in DreamWorks' "Forgotten Island," an animated movie inspired by Filipino folklore that's coming to cinemas this month.

Proud ka na ba? Because we are.
